Final postcards from Germany

Before we head off to the Netherlands there are a couple of other places in Germany to write about. One is our visit to the Erwin Hymer museum in Bad Waldsee. It covers the history of caravanning and motorhoming so if you’re into motorhomes this is a great place to visit. There are vehicles from all over the world - large and small, past and future, including the bizarre and rare!

On our way to the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon (post on that to follow next month) we had a few days in Cologne and were joined by Maria’s 80 year old mum, her first holiday in a motorhome, proving that you are never to old to give it a go!!

The cathedral in Cologne is a real show-stopper, we learnt lots on the one hour tour but in summary it took 600 years to build and is effectively still an ongoing project.

Finally if you love chocolate (does anyone not!!) then the chocolate museum in Cologne is a must! Maria was in heaven for 1-2 hours and we didn’t let the fact that it was 32C stop us from ending our visit with a hot chocolate!!

See the Our Travels section of this website for more photos from Germany.

Our next post will be from the Netherlands, our last country before we return to the UK!
